From traditional stick built homes (on-site construction) to purchasing modular homes - there isn't many options in between. One provides more customization with much less efficiencies while the other is much more efficient with essentially no customization. Two former Navy SEALs have started a company called Agorus that keeps the customization all the while capitalizing on the efficiencies of prefab development through a “vertically integrated process from digitization to installation.”
With the elimination of single family zoning in many big cities throughout the country coupled with the continuing labor shortage in the construction industry and rising costs, this concept really makes you wonder if this is the next chapter for the construction industry.
